Tijuana Flats
Tijuana Flats is a Tex-Mex restaurant chain based in Orlando that has opened a franchise in Cooper City. It also has branches in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach as well as in other parts on the state. Tijuana Flats started in the University of Florida and the restaurant in Cooper City is the 38th branch. The 11-year-old restaurant chain plans to open 100 more restaurants in the next five years.
Although technically a fast food diner, meals in Tijuana Flats are made with fresh ingredients. Burritos are made with mildly-spiced ground beef, chicken, bean or a mix, wrapped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and sour cream. The restaurant also serves chicken quesadillas, enchiladas, and other popular Mexican dishes.
Tijuana Flats also has an 18-pump hot sauce bar with an extensive selection of hot sauces, from mild to smoke-coming-out-of-your-ears hot. The more interesting ones are Chickens**t, a fire and mustard combo, and the Thai sweet chili.
