Volunteers for Cooper City Cobras
The Cooper City Optimist Cobras Soccer Team is in need of volunteers! The volunteer program is open to parents, players, and siblings. High school and middle school students are also encouraged to join. This is a great opportunity to spend time with kids, have fun, get some exercise, and learn something in the process as well.
No experience is necessary to become a volunteer of the Cooper City Optimist Cobras Soccer Team. You may volunteer as coach, assistant coach, or trainer. If you don’t want to get down and dirty in the soccer pitch, you may also help out in the administrative side of the program. Positions include Cobras Soccer board members, division coordinators, administrative helpers, Soccer Festival Planning Committee member, and Post-season clean-up committee member.
The hectic season of the Cooper City Cobras Soccer begins with pre-season planning, documentation, mailing and advertising, contacting coordinators from various divisions, registration, evaluations, assigning coaches to each team, selection of teams, referee training and scheduling, ordering and delivering of awards and uniforms, keeping track of game statistics, dealing with day-to-day operations, and a thousand other tasks. There are more than 5,000 kids who participate in each season so the duties are easily beyond overwhelming.
