Fund Raising Activities of Cooper City High Band
Maintaining a color guard and marching band is not exactly cheap so the Cooper City High School Band came up with several ways to raise money for the band’s needs.
One of the traditional fund-raising activities of the Cooper City High Band is the Christmas Tree Stand during the holidays. The band aims to make money by selling trees and wreaths and regularly puts up its booth in front of the school. The stand is open for three weeks and band members are required to tend it for at least two hours.
The Cooper City High Band also operates a concession stand at the Bank Atlantic Center during hockey games, concerts, and other major events. This has been one of the leading income-generating projects of the band for the past years.
The band also has another concession stand outside Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. Only adults are permitted to man the booths though and even 18-year-old band members are not allowed to volunteer. The stand serves food, sodas, and alcoholic drinks.
