The Ryan Shrouder Scandal in Cooper City
The senior class president of Cooper City High School apparently didn’t do so well in his leadership career path. In December 2006, eighteen-year-old Ryan Shrouder of Cooper City High was arrested on a charge of two counts of computer crime with intent to defraud which qualifies as a second-degree felony.
Police investigators said that Ryan Shrouder tampered with the grades of 19 Cooper City High students by using an employee password to access the network of the county school board. Shrouder was issued a school district laptop since he served as an alternate student advisor and was often present during meetings of the Broward School Board.
Ryan Shrouder of Cooper City High was actually popular among his classmates and peers. He was consistently voted as class leader in his sophomore and junior year before being elected as the senior class president. He was even hailed by fellow students as the most likely to be president of the United States. Shortly after his arrest, Ryan Shrouder got out of jail on bail and faced a possible expulsion from Cooper City High School.
