Winter Guard of Cooper City High Band

 

The Winter Guard started out as an offshoot of the Drum Corps/Marching Band and eventually developed into a recognized spectator sport that involves music, dance, and military precision marching. It utilizes three main instruments: rifle, saber, and flag. Each equipment is manipulated in a masterful and impressive manner that creates a visually entertaining spectacle.

 

The Color Guard of Cooper City High Band begins training for Winter Guard season after the marching band season has ended in the fall. The Color Guard is a regular participant in various local competitions organized by the South Florida Winter Guard Association, a regional affiliate of the larger Winter Guard International.

 

The Cooper City High Band Color Guard has consistently achieved notable ranks in past Winter Guard Competitions. It has also accumulated vast experiences in regional competitions held in different parts of Florida.
