As of the records of the census GR2, Cooper City, Florida had the following demographics.
The population at that point in time totaled to approximately 28,000 people, from which 9,130 households and 7,830 families were formed. The population density stood at 4,402.4 people per square mile, or 1,698.8 people per square kilometer. The racial make-up was predominantly white Caucasian (89.10%, with 75.7% being Non-Hispanic White); a small percentage of African Americans (3.09%); a considerable percentage of Hispanics or Latinos (15.57%); some Asians (4.09%); few people from other races (1.65%), an almost equally small percentage of people from mixed races (1.87%), and few individuals of Native American (0.16%) and Pacific Islander (0.04%) descent.
Among the 9,130 households, 51.5% had minors (children under 18 years of age) living with them; 70/8% comprised of married couples living together; 11.9% had female householder with no husband present; while 14.2% were non-families. Studies have also shown that 10.8% of all households were comprised of individuals, while 3.1% had were people living alone who was 65 years of age or older. In those records, the average household size was 3.06 and the average family size was 3.30.
The city’s population had spread out to 31.3% being under the age of 18 (minors); 6.3% of the population being in ages of 18 to 24; ages 25 to 44 were at a considerable percentage of 30.2%; 22.5% was the percentage of people aged 45 -64; while the remaining 6.7% were the senior citizens, aged 65 years of age and older. The average age of people in Cooper City is 37 years, with the female to male ration being 100: 94.1 respectively. Though for every 100 females aged 18 and over, there were only 88.8 males.
Households in Cooper City had an average income of $75,166, while the median family income was $78,175. Males are still the higher earners, bringing home an average income of $51,930 as opposed to females who only bring in an average $33,790. Cooper City’s per capita income was $27,474. Families below the poverty line constituted 2.9%– around 3.2% of the population.
The first language of most citizens (78.55%) was English, while Spanish came at second, with 15.08% of people speaking it. Other languages included Hebrew, which comprised of 1.25% speakers; French and Malayalam which made up for 0.75% of the residents; Italian being at 0.69%; and lastly, Chinese being at 0.59%.
