Recreation

Recreation in Cooper City isn’t hard to find. Whether it sports, a nice stroll through the park, movies, theater, camping, zoos, picking up a new hobby, attending festivals, or even setting up a few magic tricks– Cooper City will probably have what you’re looking for.

Tourists pretty much get a comprehensive package of recreational activities with the city’s luxury bus program, although residents may avail of it if they wish. Here are the list of recreational activities one may avail of in Cooper City:

Sports and Fitness: The Pool and Tennis Center isn’t only a place to go swimming or play tennis. It provides a variety of fitness programs at very reasonable costs. The mat Pilates program for example, is good value for money at $30 for 8 sessions or $5 per session for walk-ins. Then there’s also low-impact aerobics, which provides a total body workout combing low and high impact aerobic routines. If you’re a member of the fitness room, or enrolled in other workout programs, then the aerobics class is complimentary, and all you need to bring is your own towel. Another excellent workout for adults is called Functional Fit and it involves the relief of stress, blood pressure and an overall increase in well-being, for the very good price of $50 for five weeks, or $12 for walk-ins. Others physical activities involve yoga, karate, coed volleyball, organized youth sports, chi walking and of course, tennis and swimming.

City Parks: There are plenty of parks to walk around and play in. There’s the Chase Park, Cooper Point Park, Dawn Park, Country Address Park, Encore Park, Ellie Kozak Park, and Colony Park, all of which have playgrounds, park benches and open play areas; the Christie Schafale Park and Flamingo park, which has all the features of the previous parks, except with additional basketball and volleyball courts and exercise trail. Then there are the community centers which have multi-purpose rooms, game rooms, meeting rooms and the offices of Parks and Recreation. Then there are the sports complexes and the memorial parks which speak for themselves.

Community Workshops: Nothing fosters solidarity than working with other people for the benefit of the whole community. Some workshops offered include free bone density screening, health seminars which include lectures on diabetes control, diets and proper weight loss, and parent and child ceramics night out, for those who want to bond with their kids.

All these and more are available in Cooper City, so don’t worry about not having anything to do– worry about which activities to pick!
